When the display goes dark

Someone in the neighbourhood didn’t read the instructions about not including electronics for curbside pickup.

So the display remained on the side of the road for days while its onetime owner presumably ignored it. Or hoped it would magically walk itself to the recycling centre. Stranger things have happened.

I thought the scene looked particularly fetching in the mid-afternoon sun, a forlorn study in angles and shadows and ignorance. And maybe also a reminder that even the simplest of scenes may have a backstory destined to forever remain a mystery.

Who am I to judge?
