This place has become something of a touchstone for our family, a peaceful spot to rest and reflect during long journeys across the province. It recharges our souls to let our feet dig into the sand for a bit before we continue the drive.
On this particular June evening, the cloudy skies formed a protective cover of sorts for the lake as it prepared to tuck in for the night. The trees atop the ridge stretched into the resonant skies, backlit by a gentle sun that had already promised to repeat the process tomorrow.
We wouldn’t be here by then, of course, but the memories would linger all the same.
