If you step carefully, they’re like stairs. But they can just as easily trip you up if you aren’t paying attention.
Nature can be harsh, after all.
And strong.
These roots have been anchors for longer than we’ve been around, and will probably still be here long after we’re gone.
I can’t help but think there’s a story in them, somehow, a lesson in tenacity and teamwork we’d all do well to heed.
