Take this ordinary street corner, for example. Between taking the dog out to terrorize the neighbourhood or wandering further afield in the endless search for groceries, we must walk past here a dozen or so times a week.
Yet only on this night does the place decide to step out of the shadows, so to speak, and show a new side of itself.
I can’t explain the why. But that’s fine, because not everything needs to be explained.
Some nights, it’s entirely sufficient to stand and be wowed by the shadowy and largely unseen forces that surround us.
