Feeling reflective London, ON September 2023 This photo originally shared on Instagram |
Indeed, everything in this photo is reflected, filtered, ephemeral. We aren’t looking directly at anything - or at least anything permanent or solid.
And a blink after this photo was taken, countless unseen forces - wisps of wind, the pull of the river’s current, even the passing of a bird over the burbling waters - would all conspire to repaint the scene yet again.
Maybe someone else might come along to witness it.
Or not.
Doesn’t make a difference to the forces of nature that continually redraw this very unreal place. They’ll do their thing whether or not they have an audience.
Nature sure is funny that way, isn’t she?
