Which is exactly why I find myself standing on a deserted street doing just that.
As I size it up, I tell myself it isn’t a particularly spectacular or unique piece of architecture. It’s no Eiffel Tower.
Then I stop my musing, and remind myself that while that iconic tower is the subject of countless thousands of photos every day, the Kowality Motor Inn in Dryden is not. I look around the windblown streetscape and realize I’m the only one out here.
Which explains the appeal of scenes like this. Let everyone else have the Eiffel Tower. This one’s mine, and it’s spectacular in its own unique way.
