At the time I was worried about what might come next, and couldn't imagine what London would be like without this iconic span.
Thankfully the project was hugely successful, and she stands proudly today, once again a central player in the lives of countless Londoners.
So during a recent walk along the path beside the river she spans, I couldn't resist dropping in on an old friend for a bit of a catch-up.
I'm glad she'll be sticking around for a while.
