James M. Barrie
Your turn: How else would you define this undefinable thing we call life?
A brief-yet-ongoing journal of all things Carmi. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll reach for your mouse to click back to Google. But you'll be intrigued. And you'll feel compelled to return following your next bowl of oatmeal. With brown sugar. And milk.

There are a couple of other quotes I'm partial to - they've turned out to hold some truth:
"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." (John Lennon) and
"Man is born to live, not to prepare for life." (Boris Pasternak)
Sometimes, you just have to wing it.
I think Mr. Barrie hit the nail on the head... Life is lessons and its up to us to humble ourselves and to embrace what is shown or said to us... Kids are so honest in their feelings and views... There are times where I would sit back and be so amazed at their honesty that I couldn't respond... Kids know how to be so tender that it can bring one to tears.. Adults can learn from that and I think if they were as honest and unafraid to express the world be so much better... The tenderness and honesty go by the wayside when its been ridiculed and the results are cold, cyncism and negativity.
Life for me is a gift of God that is no further than our next breath. That's my take. In college, I had an English professor who said "Life is an archetypal journey". He was also going through a brutal divorce at the time, so I suspect he was in a more reflective mood. Nevertheless, his take was interesting to ponder.
To me, life is about learning. If I stop learning, what would be left?
true. but not a downer.
