Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 has crashed

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak has confirmed at a press conference that the missing Boeing 777 has crashed in the South Indian Ocean, and that there are no survivors.

The airline sent this text to family members:
“Malaysia Airlines deeply regrets that we have to assume beyond any reasonable doubt that MH370 has been lost and that none of those on board survived"
Somehow, we all knew this. But still. Sad.

A part of me did, but if any of my loved ones were on that flight, I'd still be skeptical. Something in that statement is disturbing to me. “We have to assume beyond any reasonable doubt that MH370 has been lost and that none of those on board survived." Assume? Not good enough for me. Of course, once actual wreckage is recovered, (I believe some was just located?) Yet, I'm still bothered by the pilot's last words, "All right. Good night." Just before the plane disappeared.
