"Remembering you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart."
Steve Jobs.
I've been saving this one for a while, and today for various reasons seems like the right day to share it.
Mr. Jobs has, for reasons obvious and less so, always been a huge influence on me. As the new year dawns for my own tribe, I find myself reflecting on how so many of us fail to squeeze the most out of the time we've been given. Whatever your background and whatever you're celebrating, may the year to come - and more importantly each individual day - bring us not only happiness and health, but the ability and willingness of us all to recognize just what a gift this time is.
Your turn: How do you intend to, as Mr. Jobs recommends, follow your heart?

After my husband was killed, there seemed to be a succession of loss in my family... Grandma, brother, MIL, hubby's aunt...I have found the older i've gotten, and dealt w/loss, either its age or experience, I know death is imminent... I agree w/Mr. Jobs' feeling on life... I take each day as it comes... I try not to think too far ahead because it really doesn't do any good... We all can be taken at any moment, so its better to focus on the here and now and what will be will be. We are all put here for a reason and its up to us to discover what it is and to then embrace it.
i am squeezing out as much life as I can. Just got back from a trip to the high wilderness, and Mt. Whitney.
14,496 feet of adventure.
I love my life
I always want to do more art, but survival keeps getting in the way lately- If only some one else could pay my rent...
Without the little things, I don't enjoy much. But without the pressure from work, I don't get as inspired to create what I'm compelled to, either. Catch 22.
Must live to die, both full of surprizes!
