On being your own driver

"If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much."
Jim Rohn

I'm slowly coming to the realization that relying on others to pursue your dreams is like asking others to drive your car. Why would they when they're busy enough driving themselves?

Patience and politeness can only take you so far. Eventually, you've got to grab the wheel and point yourself where you want to go. No one else will ever care about your journey as much as you do.

Your turn: How are you driving your own life?

My grandson's other grandmother says he's the captain of his ship. So are we all.

It's odd that you mention this today! I spent the weekend doing something I've kind of dreamed of doing for my next job move.... and in the late afternoon sunset I thought of all the points and objects necessary to make my dream a reality...it is after all exactly as you wrote, word for word...it's only ME, myself and I that can make My engine purr....

This is an interesting sentiment. It reminds me of a story of sorts I once wrote about a man who had a plan for everything and another man who waits for it. I shared it on my FB & twitter with some friends a couple weeks back. Anyhow it is quite rough... take a read if you'd like or not.

Do you write anything other than anecdotes about your adventures sometimes taking pics of strangers & ducks?

It's a definite "work in progress" over here on my side of the fence, Carmi. But I'm shaking things up and going at it!

Have a nice weekend!
