Purple and proud

The color of nature

It's been a long, tough winter here in the Great White North, and as much as Canadians seem to revel in beating back the worst of it, I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to more moderate weather.

One of the things I miss most when the snow falls is the abundance of color that surrounds us for the rest of the year. I'm aware that the typically winter shades of white, grey and brown-ish are all colors, as well, but they're nowhere near as kind to the soul as scenes like this.

I'm looking forward to more purples like this. And I'm looking forward to more walks with my kids so they can capture more moments like this one through the lens.

Your turn: Your favorite color is...? Why?

Shades of blue because they are peaceful. But all other colors are close behind in my favor. If you stop by the grocery get a potted plant to put on your desk until the weather changes. It will provide great comfort.

Joe Pye weed is very beautiful. A nice spring touch to the table.

BLUE! All shades of it too. Perhaps because I'm a fan of sky and water, and blue sports cars, because they are so cool, and everything blue seems to ignite goodness!

Now where is that new theme you promised?

It varies - often it's purple, but then I like yellow because it's so bright and cheerful, and blue for the same reasons as Karen, and fresh lovely greens...

Brown (all shades) is my favorite color. I like earth tones in general and brown is the earthiest of them all. Hope things have been going well for you.
