What lies beneath the tracks

I took this because public spaces like this one - the waiting area at #LdnONT's @viarailcanada station - rarely get any sort of spotlight.

They may not be spectacular or memorable, and they aren't destinations in and of themselves. It would be easy to write them off - but we shouldn't. Because they're part of the journey, transient places necessary to ensure we get where we're going. Their subtle design cues gently keeping us on track as we try to navigate from here to there.

Places like this seem to have an understated beauty to them, one that politely invites us in for a closer look. And as a place to people-watch, it doesn't get any better than this.

So as much as I love the grand spaces that fill everyone else's Instagram feeds and photo archives, I hope you won't mind if I occasionally choose to explore the less-celebrated spaces that seem to linger quietly just below our individual and collective radar.
