Because every once in a while, it soothes the soul to drive into the country and take in the view.
It isn't always spectacular, but that's actually why this place captivates so.
The view, in every direction, is dominated by simple shapes, colors, and textures, all sculpted by forces unconstrained by overbuilt urban infrastructure.
Or maybe it isn't as simple as the eye first perceives. I'll leave that for my next visit. Or maybe the one after that. I'll just have to keep coming back to try to figure it out.
Maybe I'll never figure it out at all - and that's perfectly okay, too.
