Shooting a Diamond in the sky

On a day when the skies above #LdnONT are filled with some of the most sophisticated military aircraft on the planet, it's a small-ish twin-engined propellor-powered aircraft that captures my attention.

Of course, this isn't just any prop plane. It's a Diamond Aircraft DA-62. The company has a plant here in town, and it's not too much of a stretch to say it's beloved by anyone with even a remote connection to our city's aviation and tech communities. They create and build world-beating aircraft that push the bounds of private aviation. That's inspiring.

The show was not yet underway, and I found myself targeting private aircraft to calibrate my camera and get my head in the game before the so-called sexier aircraft were scheduled to show up.

But here's the thing: They have nothing on this stunning design. And they aren't made here. This one is. And we always support our own.
