Look who I met at the beach
My wife wrote a touching entry on our trip to the beach this past Sunday, so I'll say no more about the great time we all had.
I do, however, want to introduce you to the gilled dude (dudette?) that the kids found washed up on the shore just as we were packing up.
My long-suffering wife is used to my photographic fascination with weird stuff like this. The other beachgoers were, unfortunately for them, not. They stared at me as I gleefully waded into the shallow water by the shore and snapped picture after picture of the quite dead fish. The incredulous looks on their faces suggested they were all wondering what would possess a grown man to do such a thing.
I'm not sure I have the answer for them, since I'm not sure why I do any of this. I find it fun to take a contrarian view of the world. And I suspect that you'll all enjoy the results of my oddball photographic taste.
Your turn: So, am I nuts or what?

Yep. Definitely nuts. And nuts is GOOD!
(Your suspicion was correct too!)
Yes, I agree with zinna - totally nuts. But tis a great piccie.
Don't think you nuts...with the invention of the digital camera...I now shoot many things that I would not normally waste film on. Love that delete button!
Nah! You just see the world in a different way, and that, is what makes people fascinating, when they can see things others can't.
Until she learns how to use my digital camera, my puppy preserves her memories of dead fish on the beach by rolling around on top of them.
no, not nuts. or...if you are so am i because i am the same way. uh oh. am i nuts???
oh, and i like this pic very much.
I dunno about 'nuts'. 'Interesting', perhaps? As in:
"Honey, back away from the 'interesting' man. I'm sure he's harmless, but..."
No, not nuts at all. What a cool, albeit slightly disturbing, photo!
Great pic. If you're nuts then I am too.
I love that kind of stuff!! This pic rocks! I need to get a digi cam, I love photography. Getting interesting pics is an art. :)
Different perspectives are the spice of life!
Not crazy, just curious.
A couple of years ago two birds (grackles) got stuck in my parents chimney. My niece and I opened up the damper and out they fell. We took them outside and tried to give them water, but one died right away.
The other lasted a few minutes. While we waited to see if they'd pull through, my niece took twenty or thirty photos of them.
Instead of nuts, I'd call it a child-like curiousity. One you shouldn't lose or ignore because someone else looks at you funny.
Yep. Welcome to the club!
Death is such a mysterious thing. Whenever we see something dead, it allows us to get up close to it in a way we have never been allowed before. I guess sex is like that too.
My mother is volunteering at a day camp and took three little boys on a hike this week and they found a dead fish. She said she counted about five seconds before they were all poking it with a stick. What is it with boys and intrinsic desire to poke things?
A little nuts. Of course, I hate fish, especially dead fish, so . . .
Nuts is so much fun! Thank you for visiting my blog!!!
I just want to say that my son had seen a dead fish in the water last year and he said "look mommy, a sleeping fish!" I just nodded and said "shhhh, don't wake him"
Have a great evening!
Definitely not nuts. We each see the world in our own unique perspective. I love to catch a glimpse of the world through someone else's eyes. :) Thank you for visiting my blog today, by the way. I'm still browsing through yours.
you're not nuts... although the fish does seem slightly surprised at being dead
no I don't think you are nuts. My idea of a fun trip to 'the beach' recently involved snapping about 300 pics in the rain at Cape Hopewell NB. Made for a nice quiet place to take pictures - sometimes standing in the two inch deep mud. :)
morbidly curious? ha ha
The fish looks like he saw a ghost!
When my wife and I separated last Christmas, I destroyed every picture that had us together in it. I wish I had them back. They were prints and I don't have the negatives. Maybe we can make new ones someday. Maybe not. I can only pray.
God bless you. You seem like a great man.
