Do you ever wonder what happens to images of water when they're frozen by a fast shutter speed and a flash?
So did I. So I (carefully) played in the shower and conjured up this image. Click on the picture to zoom in.
Something tells me my lenses and I will be spending more time around moving water in the near future.

Nice image. Try water dropping into a bowl, for the ripple effect. Use a fast shutter speed. Works great. Michele sent me.

Or you can catch a single droplet on it's way down. They have many differents shapes. Cool picture.

"Burst shot" mode is good for this sort of thing, if your camera supports it, and there's enough light available.

oh i have many moving water images, love them. Sprinklers are fun.
Water is one of the greatest photo subjects I think. Whether the glistening waters of a lake or a river tumbling or droplets as you have. It is hard to get that just right and you have done a great job.

lol when you said you were playing in the shower i wasn't sure what to expect! haha OH.. wait you were taking pictures of water, that is totally not dirty. sorry, i tend to take things to the gutter. :)

I just bought a new digital camera via the net last night. It's not a real good one, just something to use until I get a good one. But I think I'll be playing with it like you did with the water droplets. The neatest thing for me about your picture here is that you can see the reflection of the flash on some of the droplets but not nearly all of them--indicating that they're not uniform at all. Great picture, Carmi.

My husband loves to shoot waterfalls. Depending on the speed at which their shot, sometimes, you see the detail of drops, other times, it looks more like milk flowing down through rocks. I like this photo, Carmi! Keep up the great work.

Here again from Michele. I hadn't noticed the refraction of the light into colors the first time around. Like flowing drops of sparkling diamonds. Wish diamonds came out of the showerhead each morning, don't you?
What a GREAT photo! I always wanted to be a photographer but I never had that artistic eye. I still take tons and tons of photos..mostly of my kids. :)

Niiiice....what kind of camera are you using? Point & Shoot, Digital SLR? I've got a really good P&S digital but I'm not sure I could get that photo. And P&S just isn't that good when you're trying to take pictures of cats...

Water is one of my most favorite things to take pictures of. I did a project for the house that was all man-made water features (no fountains that spit up in the air!). I like features that shape the water. Can't wait to see what else you come up with!
