How many flavors?
London, ON, July 2007 Because the world
can be so tumultuous, I find myself turning to pictures of happier scenes. Thank you for indulging my own form of photographic therapy.
Here, a simple trip to the local ice cream shop turns into something somewhat more involved when our two youngest realize there's more to be had than a mere cone. I couldn't resist capturing this moment by the glass when their unseen eyes were larger than their stomachs, and their thoughts were filled with the happy things that occupy children's minds on a hot summer day.
Your turn: What are
you dreaming of right now?

enjoyed the photo..
There's not much of a summer over here at the moment but it was great to see this happy photo. Do you know I immediately joined in with them, looking over their shoulders to see which one I would choose!
Their body language is perfectly framed. I can almost hear them thinking!
Italy. I just saw a post full of photo from the Adriatic coast and I want to go back there soooo badly!
I love your daughter's hat!
Now that I've seen this cute photo, I have to say I, too, am dreaming of ice cream, lol!
I'm so jealous...you were at a Baskin Robbins. We don't have Baskin Robbins around here anymore and I miss them...
A clean house and a weed-free garden. I'd like to just wave a magic wand and 'make it so'. I've got a lot of work to do today! Sigh...
This is a beautiful photo, Carmi. Very sweet, innocent and cheerful. There is ugliness in life, but there are many moments of beauty and joy, too.
the joy of watching the innocence of children.....
moving post my firend
totally understand you're desire to post "happier scenes" like this one.
i love "dreaming" about cakes and icecream at places like this...the biggest one's always looks sooo goood.
Hi Carmi, thanks for leaving a comment on my blog...I feel special :-)
I love your work!
What am I dreaming of? I'm dreaming of my upcoming vacation to Alaska and imagining all of the natural beauty that will surround me.
very cute! Did they get more than a cone??
simple thing I am dreaming....husband coming home. less than 150 days to go!
peace, a new president, a new vice president, children being fed EVERYWHERE, nobody sleeping in the street, and justice for all
Peace, quiet, being in a place that my mother isn't. Where I can be alone and not nagged or bothered or told that I'm wrong for not doing things her way....
*sigh*
I'm also dreaming of being with the boyfriend, all snuggled up. That makes everything OK.
peace, quiet, solitude....my "always" dream.
Well now that I've read your post and seen the picture, I'm dreaming of taking my kids to the ice cream parlor tonight for dessert.
I am dreaming of time with my best friend (my hubby) and quiet moments to do nothing and soak in everything.
P.S. I think we all need to remember to "post" these "happier scenes" everywhere we can. Yuckiness seeps into too many places, no?
a dirty martini...and it's getting closer!
Lovely shot, Carmi!
OOPS! Hi, Michele sent me!
I love the way that they look in this photo --- you can almost taste the anticipation they are feeling!
Hi, Michele sent me to say how much I like this photo!
N.
Hey there....I have missed your blog! Cute shot...there really is nothing like a good scoop of ice cream! Take care Carmi!
cuddling up with my kitty tonight when i finish grand prix prep. :)
i miss my kitty Moo when i am at work.
Oh, I like the desserts photo. :)

That's such a perfect summer photo! I miss Baskin Robbins - their franchise here closed down a long time ago.
As for your question...
I'm dreaming of spending a whole summer in our ancestral home in the province, like I used to do when I was in school. I went to the beach with my cousins every other day, shopped and watched movies on trips to the town, took evening walks, and camped out in the middle of the road until midnight, eating, drinking, and just being silly. Now, as a full-fledged adult, that's not possible anymore.
What a great shot - I think I would be looking at that case the same way.
What am I dreaming of...a short little trip I am taking the beginning of August...
Heh, right now I think I'm dreaming of being there in front of the case too!
beautiful!!! :)
Dancing in the rain ....sliding in mud......then rolling on a brand new couch with ice cream dripping ... Not worrying about what others think....: whatever :)
