Curtains

Nothing too grand here. Just another snippet from the hospital, the kind of detail that I tend to notice when I'm sitting in an uncomfortable chair beside a radiator that continues to spew heat despite the fact that it's a warm spring day outside.

Your turn: A simple scene that sticks in your mind. Please discuss.

One more thing: We're still captioning. Click here for this week's entry. You won't be sorry. Or maybe you will! Either way, are you game?

I saw way too much of hospital curtains last August, when mr. kenju had his stroke. I hope your dad is better soon, Carmi.

Carmi I hope your dad is better soon.
I am sure my husband will be a mess next Tuesday when I have surgery. My father hates hospitals and won't even come, but my mom will be there with me. I am supposed to only be there the day.

Simple moments, yesterday it was watching the rise and fall of my nephews chest as he napped. Something about watching a baby sleep relaxes me and reminds me of the potential the world has.

Right now, the "simple scene" that is prevalent in my mind is of my youngest, 11, who STILL delights in "nothing". A ball, a magnet, a stick, for goodness sakes.

I'm so aware these days are numbered...I'm savoring his ordinary delights....

Carmi, I know your dad's circumstance is weighing heavily--by both what you say and what you don't say. Praying for peace for you, him, and all.
