Thematic Photographic 16 - Nature

Storm's coming
Laval, QC, August 2008 [Click to embiggen]

I've always preferred the simple to the elaborate. When you pat on too many layers of anything, you tend to lose the entire sense of the thing. If last week's theme gave us an opportunity to zoom in a little and eliminate extraneous detail, then this week's theme, nature, continues the trend.

I'm hoping the next week gives you a chance to get out and shoot stuff that wasn't created by us. I hope you get back to the simple joys of observing the world around us. Have fun reconnecting with nature!

Your turn: Time for you to click and share! Here's the rundown of how Thematic Photographic works...
  • Every Wednesday evening, I post a new Thematic Photographic entry.
  • Each entry has a unique theme. This week's is...nature.
  • You post a similarly themed image over on your blog.
  • You paste a link to your entry in a comment here.
  • If you've already posted something that fits (on a blog, Facebook, MySpace, wherever) simply post the link to the existing entry.
  • You may post one per day, many per day, one each day of the entire week, whatever suits your fancy. This is all about sharing, so feel free to share to your heart's content!
  • Please share this link with friends, too, and encourage them to join in. The more, the merrier.
If you'd like to see past Thematic Photographic entries, please click here. I hope you enjoy this week's theme.

One more thing: To submit your caption for the latest Caption This, head on over here. This week's entry is a game of inches - you won't want to miss it!

Indeed I have [enjoyed that is to say] The trouble is that Wednesday is already nearly over here. What time zone are you?

Maybe a week in advance warning, might give you a better chance of us joining you.

Best wishes

Hi Carmi! This is a wonderful theme. I love the storm photo--can never tire of looking at the beauty of the ever-changing sky.

Here is a previous post I did back in June-my first attempts at nature photography. This challenge will motivate me to capture some new ones this week!

I envy your eye for what makes a dramatic black and white photo. This one's stunning. I've got mine for this week here

Thanks, Carmi.

Looks like a formidable storm a-comin'.
I'm actually on board early for a change! I had some "leftovers" in the Thematic fridge from last week that fit the theme quite well.
Enjoy!

Okay, you hooked me. Nature is so wide open. Here's one I took a while okay, I am particularly proud of. Not great photography, just great timing.

I'll be back with more.

Snapped these tonight, before you'd posted your theme for the week. Are you telepathic? :)

Fantastic, Carmy!!
Here is an older post of mine for this beautiful theme...!!

The current theme was an inspiration to post forgotten pictures from this summer in the Alps. Not mountains, but a different flower

Ohhh, I love this theme!
I'm enjoying this so much.
Lovely storm shot, Carmi!!
I grew up in West Texas, famous for it's thunder storms and tornados. I miss those, believe it or not.

Love the theme this week Carmi. I just sometimes feel that I'm out of my league when doing these posts. Getting the courage up to keep posting though.

Here's my first post for nature theme.

Hi Carmi! I love your themes. I will be posting one pic a day for the next week *fingers crossed* for the theme. Each day the entry will go up at 12:00 NOON EST. I will just give a link to my blog so that I won't have to come back and relink every day! Great sky pic, by the way!

:)

Cheers.

I missed last week. I was here, but not really here. No excuses. But I may have missed the most exciting week of Thematic Photographic since its inception.

To make up for it, I have a photo that fits both this week's "nature" theme and last week's "close-up" theme. Brace yourself...

Nature, close up!

My first post is up; hopefully it won't be my last. I'm a HUGE fan of TP, but lately demands on my time have kept my participation to a minimum.

This theme is one of my favorites (do I say that every time?)! I hope I don't take the beauty of nature for granted...focusing on the inherent beauty of creation often leads me to worship its Creator.

Here’s a look at nature that both draws and repels me :).

A wonderful theme. Thanks. Mine is up. I also linked to a Florida blog of a lady who kayaks on the Wacissa River in north Florida and has some magnificent photos of true Florida nature.

I love the sky photos.

I love how treating it in black and white conveys the image of a storm better. Mine is about two islands named after animals.

Carmi, those are great looking storm clouds. Your theme this week works for me, I am a nature nut.... I've put together a couple of collages for now. Since I have so many nature photos it's difficult to choose which ones to post.

You will find mine here

hope all is well.

My first nature photos are up. Kudzu, anyone?

I found it hard to narrow mine down for this one, as I seem to have so many that fit this theme. Here are some of my favorites.

Hi, I'm back with a fresh post, not a recycled one. This one is called "Magnolia". But I'll just let you click on my icon because I will also post again in a day or so.

Again, having soooo much fun with this I'm neglecting my chores!

I was going to post this pretty little blue bird anyway, but this week's TP is the perfect venue. Good call, Carmi!

It's great to see so many enjoying Thematic Photographic, Carmi! This week's theme offers so much in interpretation; my second submission (tonight's) is VERY different from my first...MUCH more "friendly".
