Faded beauty
London, ON, February 2010I've chosen
trees as this week's
Thematic Photographic theme because I can never tire of shooting them, and I hope you can't, either.
I've been staring at trees rather often lately, and I'm not entirely sure why. Perhaps they seem more significant to me now. Perhaps it's a reminder that we need to respect our surroundings. Perhaps it's a subtle hint to slow down and reflect.
Whatever the reason, I've had a good time filling my camera's memory card, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with over the next week, too. Are you in?
Your turn: Share a picture of a tree, any tree, on your blog or photo sharing site. Then paste a link here. Repeat as often as your poor fingers can manage.

I've been checking in from time to time, but haven't had a lot of time to comment. Life is very busy at the moment.
I think trees are one of my favorite subjects. I like how you captured this one.
Here's my trees
I love these trees! They are beautiful! I have just the picture for this, but I am going to have to find it! I'll post it later this week!
I not only took pictures of trees today, I interviewed a many who teaches others how to climb trees and sleep in them!
I love the bluish purple hue of this picture... very "out of this world" look. I took a look at a tree from the inside looking out. My tree for today.
I finally have one that's relevant to your theme.
Magical!

I started out complaining about Georgia winters, no snow just bare trees and brown grass. Then my husband started to point out the character in the bare tree shapes and I have been snapping pics of them ever since and have continued to take tree photos as they have started to bloom. I've also become interested in Bonsai because of the interesting shapes of those little trees.
Here are some of my tree photos

Beautiful shot, Carmi. Ethereal, graceful, and just plain other world-ly!
What a lovely shot. I am busy with a poem a day challenge this month, but hope to post a few tree photos in between poems. The first is up - a rather odd New Zealand tree called a lancewood
When walking through a nearby urban trail always take time to pause and admire this Wolf tree.
Just yesterday I spent some time among the trees. I got quiet and listened to them creeking. It was so comforting and lonely at the same time. There was moment of great triumph in getting comfortable with that LONLINESS!
Ah. Forgive me for using your comment section for my personal revelations, Carmi.
I hope you see some beauty today.
I think respect is slowing growing for our environment, Carmi!
OMIGOD! That is such a beautiful picture, Carmi! The composition and wash is stunning :-)

I live in Georgia and being a temperate rainforest I have plenty of pictures of trees, probably well over a thousand. I picked out a few of my favorites and put them on my blog. Here are my trees.
