One last bloom
London, ON, September 2011
About this photo: We're sharing perspectives of autumn, and you can, too, by going here. There's a more than a little bit of bittersweet mixed into autumn, as much of what you see here is on the verge of disappearing for a while. Sure, the flowers and leaves will grow back next spring, but not these particular flowers. It'll be another generation, and you wonder if they'll be everything you remembered in the old one.
This is, of course, how life works. But knowing it logically doesn't mean we can't take a moment or two to ponder its meaning, to wonder if we're truly appreciating the gift of life not only in the things that grow all around us, but within ourselves, as well.
Your turn: What are you thankful for?

In relation to this lovely photo, that I'm here to enjoy them. Last week I went around our yard and made a wreath of various items (even some red leaves really!) and included these flowers as well....it hangs on our deck, still I can appreciate all the things I collected, although the wreath today isn't as fresh as it first was...it's clearly marking our passage....I had planned on another post (including this wreath) and better hurry as you'll change it soon! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
