Your turn: How do you hold onto your childhood?
A brief-yet-ongoing journal of all things Carmi. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll reach for your mouse to click back to Google. But you'll be intrigued. And you'll feel compelled to return following your next bowl of oatmeal. With brown sugar. And milk.

Hmmmm. That's a tough one. I didn't really have a childhood. I mean, obviously, I lived through my early years- but they weren't the kind anyone would want to hold on to.
I had the distinct pleasure of deciding to have a childhood in the Now. I play outside (in the mountains, on the rivers, on the rocks) and take delight in little things every. single. day.
In a way, it's better than having a childhood to look back on. Youth truly is wasted on the young...
I still don’t care about anything else but don’t seem to see the rainbow no more!
Much of my childhood I am glad to have left behind, but the sense of wonder when I am out enjoying nature -- THAT I have clung to with joy. And I am like a little kid when it comes to snow. I can't sleep if I am waiting for promised snowfall. I literally hop up and down when we get a good dumping of the white stuff. I've yet to be sick and tired of it. Snow makes everything clean and bright and fresh-smelling. (Cars make it dirty and gray and disgusting, but that's not the fault of the snow.)
By still drinking hot chocolate milk. Mmmm... Good!
....oooh, kicking leaves, splashing in puddles, walking through streams, lying down under trees, playing hopscotch down the pavements, skimming stones across rivers, pressing flowers and leaves, making things with paper.....and heaps more beside
