Photography isn't so much about the photo as it is the pursuit of that photo, the process it took to capture it, the hoops you had to jump through to get there.

And sometimes the usually ordinary, forgettable things you see every day suddenly look...different. Perhaps the light is unique. Or your mood has shifted. Whatever the cause, if you're into this photography thing you already know what that feels like.

It's a good feeling. Where everything kind of snaps into place in your head as you figure out how you're going to go about capturing this suddenly visible-to-you moment.

And so it was on this sunny Saturday summer afternoon where the lines and the light and the color all seemed to align, and the story shaped itself in my imagination.

Snapping the photo was the easiest part. All I had to do was answer the call in the first place.
