#BellLetsTalk, mental health, and you

It’s #BellLetsTalk day today, so let’s talk.

Because thanks to a deepening pandemic, our mental health has never been more central to our lives, or more at risk, than it is now.

Because we all struggle.

Because we all know people who struggle. Even if the signs aren’t as obvious as we might have thought.

Because that struggle would be easier to manage if only we were surrounded, at home, at work, and in life, by people who offered support and empathy instead of judgment and stigma.

Because mental health IS health. Period.

Because mental health can vary, and tomorrow could be very different than today.

Because we are surrounded by powerful tools of mass communication that, depending on our choice, can be used to either help or hinder. So choose wisely.

Because mental health will be just as crucial to us - as individuals, as families, as a society - tomorrow as it is today. So make awareness and action part of who you are not just today, but every day thereafter.

Because while an annual campaign to raise money and awareness is a gift to us all, it is just the beginning. And we are nowhere near where we need to be.

So now it’s over to you. Please share this. Retweet it. Post your own message using the #BellLetsTalk hashtag. Visit the website from the photo to learn more about how this campaign works.

And after we’ve finished today, keep reaching out to others. Keep making the world better for those who struggle.

Because you just never know.
