Our little pumpkin
Sometimes, you take a picture and you instantly know in your heart of hearts that its very existence will embarrass your child for the rest of his or her life.
This image, which I have loved to bits and pieces since the day I took it just over 2-and-a-half years ago, is of Noah in his pumpkin costume. I'm not sure why he was so serious at that moment - he's usually so happy. I think our then-three-year-old may have been tuckered out from the effort of getting the thing on.
I'm sorry that they grow so quickly that they fit into things like this for a mere blink of time. I'm sorry that we don't take more pictures like this to remember these magical little moments. I'll try to rectify that in the years to come.
Your turn: A memorable moment in a child's life, captured. Discuss...

That's a great pic btw.
We have the obligatory nekkid baby in the bath pics.
For me though, to date - I love the pics I took when we took the girls to the playground for the first time. The expressions on their faces as they're in the swings is precious!
great pic.
I love this picture...But do you really think it will always embarass him? Maybe when he is much MUCH older he will be happy that you took this photograph, just as you are happy you took it now...I think sometimes time and age bring wisdom even about photographs in costumes! (lol)
I caught the mixture of awe and maternal instinct on my (at that time) one year old daughter's face when she saw her newborn cousin. I love that picture!
But you, my friend, have talent. This is a terrific picture.
Michele sent me today.
Michele sent me back this morning Carmi...I still think your son will eventually treasure this photograph plus all the other wonderful pictures you have taken and will take of him and his siblings!
What a great picture! Though you always have great pictures up. Here via Michele this morning, though I'd have made it around eventually.
He looks just like you.
From Michele's today.
I know I have always loved looking at the old pictures of me and I hope my kids do too.
I wish I had taken more movies of my boys! When I dream them little again, it's my all time favorite dream! Especially when they talk. Their small sweet voices get me the most!
Well, Michele sent me back again, ny dear Carmi! I see where you said on Michele...'no one came'...I did, My Dear...And HAPPILY So...I hope you are feeling MUCH MUCH better, btw...Did you have Bronchitus??? That is mean, for sure. Do take care.
Hey Carmi! Great picture! My daughter is almost 14 and, as she's our only child, I find myself not only enjoying her as she "grows up" but feeling sad about all the small child-like moments that have already passed us by. These small snapshots of memory and time are priceless. It all goes by way too fast.
Here from Michele's today. Geez, does he ever look like you!
My contribution to "captured childhood moments" would have to be a picture of me and my sister in matching outfits when I was about 2 and she was 6. We both have the grumpiest faces on partly because of the pansy red matching outfits we were made to wear, but mostly for having to sit next to one another. I guess we weren't to pleased at the time, but it's sure a good laugh now.
Great picture!

Well, that's a great pic and not at all embarrassing. I have one of my daughter standing on a step stool and she's looking out the window. The curtain is covering everything except her bare bottom. Now THAT'S embarrassing!
Here via Michele's. Hope you're well!
My parents have a photo of me on the beach. I was probably 3 or so. I was stark naked looking for sand in places sand should not be.
Say it with me, boys and girls "totally mortifying". Yes indeedy. But hell, I was 3.
It's funny, they always said they would show it to my future husband, my soon-to-be-ex-husband has not seen it. Interesting. Okay, perhaps that's only interesting to me. haahahahahha
Great photo Carmi, as usual.
I don't think he will be embarressed. He loves that costume and he I think will always look back at that picture with fondness.
Hey people...he looks a little bit like me, too!! Doesn't he Carmi?! :-)
Even if he isn't crazy about the picture I love it! He's so cute...no prejudice here.
ADORABLE!
Of all the photos that you have posted - and most have been really fabulous - this one is my all-time favorite. You captured such a sweet, tender moment.
My friends have a blog for their daughter where they take a photo every day! It's a wonderful way to see her progress. My favorite photo is one where she's looking at the camera and you can just see the wheels turning in her head, behind her smiling eyes. Beautiful pic of your little one. Here again from Michele's.
Carmi he looks JUST like you. Surely you hear that all the time. I too have a photo that I know will embarass my son, in fact I took it with that express intent. ;-) I threaten to publish it his senior year in the yearbook...and that year is this coming one. Bwahahaha
