Chrome mystery

Brightwork
Vail, Colorado, November 2006 [Click to embiggen]

I like chromed, bright surfaces because they seem to show up especially well through a camera lens. So while walking through the ski village - no, I didn't bump into any celebs, as it was a week before the ski hills opened for business - I came across this small detail that caught my eye.

Any guesses?

Well, this is interesting. I just finished watching the movie "The World's Fastest Indian" and this photo reminds me of a chrome hubcap.

Stopping by to say hello, Carmi. Wow, you're in a very swanky place! Have fun!

Could it be a stack of chrome trays and chafers - perhaps in an antique/junque shop?

Definitely some sort of gas-powered, heat source, but I don't suspect a cooktop.

Back to the photo fun, Carmi? It is great fun, too. Good to see ya!

I'm thinking it might be a chromed tail light? You always keep me on my toes!

Hmmm...I sit here staring at the chrome photo, when I should be working, lol! I think it's either a hubcap on the back of an antique car, or something on a jukebox.

There. Now I can get on with my day! lol!

By the way, I look forward to enjoying the rest of your blog...and thank you for your visit to mine!

I have no idea what it is, but I'm guessing that it was found in a restaurant... maybe I'll get that much right.

Perhaps a water faucet handle?

I'm not sure but I DO like the way that chrome jumps out of the photo at you.

OK, my guess is a chrome accent around the lights of a sports car.

I'm thinking rim from a tire?

Glad to see things are going well, Carmi! :) Great shot, as usual.

Kudos to Linda, Roxanne, Tanya and Naomi for narrowing it down to something automotive.

Here's the lowdown: As I strolled through the village, I came across a car manufacturer's display. Volvo had placed a lovely burgundy XC90 on a pedestal for everyone to see - and presumably ogle.

This image is a closeup of the driver-side front headlight assembly. I've got a thing for automotive lights, and these seemed so clean and sharp.

Thanks, everyone, for playing along. I've got lots more photo mysteries to share. Stay tuned!
