No, really. Size matters when you're delivering critical supplies to the edge of the planet, when peoples' survival depends on this plane getting where it needs to go. When everyone else is fleeing in the other direction, this is the plane that heads into harm's way, loaded to the gills.
Capability matters, too. And if you've never watched the whale-like C-17 Globemaster III get thrown around like a much smaller plane, or land on a ridiculous excuse for a runway, then back itself up and take off again, you're missing the aviation equivalent of a cargo dance party.
Thanks to COVID, we didn't get to meet the flight crew this time out. I hope they know how special they are.
