I share them here because, somewhat strangely, I like to take pictures of important foods so they can take me back to the moment they were made or shared.
Because these aren't just little globs of shredded almond before the chocolate is drizzled on. They're an important part of who we are as a family, and what it feels like to be one of us.
Of course, for me, this time, it's macaroons. But it could be anything. Anytime. Made by anyone.
Because we all eat different things, surrounded by different people, immersed in different experiences. What matters is the ability to appreciate those experiences, share them, and return to them when we need to.
And make no mistake: we need this now more than ever.
