Single tree on a snowy night London, ON February 2023 This photo originally shared on Instagram |
So many good folks have shared so many great photos from long ago, and it’s been a kick to look through everyone’s wayback lens for a bit.
So let’s keep it going, shall we?
This year-ago shot highlights just how radically different the weather was on February 2, 2023 vs. today. Last year, we were living through a mid-winter paradise of snow and bitter cold, whereas today it’s warm, wet, and green, punctuated by dire predictions that the climate change apocalypse is upon us.
I suspect it’s too early to freak out just yet, as the weather is going to weather whether we like it or not. That, and climate isn’t the same thing as weather.
When I become a meteorologist (ha!), I’ll feel qualified to weigh in on what’s happening to Planet Earth. But for now, I’ll stick to taking pretty pictures of the snow, or of whatever else Mother Nature decides to throw at us.
Besides, change has always been nature’s middle name. And life would be boring if it always looked the same.
What’s YOUR weather shot?
