Instruments once looked like this, industrial age dials that told their stories with the sweep of a hand.

Today we use screens to figure out what’s going on, how fast we’re going, and what may come next. More efficient? Sure. Better? Let’s talk.

Part of me thinks decades from now, no one will ever look at an old, dark flatscreen and wonder about the stories it might have once told.

History is best told in analog tones, I guess.
