AND THE ATMOSPHERIC RIVER BEGINS!

A brief-yet-ongoing journal of all things Carmi. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll reach for your mouse to click back to Google. But you'll be intrigued. And you'll feel compelled to return following your next bowl of oatmeal. With brown sugar. And milk.

Love this shot, I love wandering down streets looking for interesting shots.
ahh. as a (former) city girl, i like this a lot.
Nice colors and lighting. The windows make me want to peek in to find out what's going on inside.
Finally followed your link for Caption This. All this time I thought you were inviting us to name your WW photo. You must've been surprised when I named your owl weeks ago; sorry if you thought I was cursing you!

Looks like that house in the middle saw something surprising...raised eyebrows!
Hi Carmi, is facadist a word? But I know what you mean... very colorful. I wonderful if the owners collaborated on the choice of colors? Happy WW! :D
Some designer got bored with drab colors...lol
Love it!! every window tells a story...
Happy WW! Mine is here.

I love this photo! (Do I say that every week?) When I see buildings like this, I think of all the people who have lived in them and all the everyday dramas that have taken place there.
Great picture, Carmi.
My post is here. Happy WW!
Very pretty!
Sorry... no good story today, but I love this shot.
I love the color and can only imagine the many lives that played out in these buildings... who knows what drama took place inside or the emotion or creativity. One could write a short story for every window!
Have a great week and please join me here for my WW post if you can:
Just Some Thoughts
I love it, Carmi! I love architecture, and I love old buildings getting fresh looks. Beautiful!
I love that the buildings are different even though they are connected! The colors are beautiful.
Oh boy...these buildings have so many stories to tell! Stories of people who lived and died there, stories of change, of joy, triumph, despair, and grief. Pictures like this just make me dream.
I've got a question to be answered over on my WW today too...come on by!

A story of three friends with three very different lives brought together by living in these three houses. Great shot!
Hi Carmi
Playing catchup again, this photo is motivating me to go and shoot some of the old buildings around our small town from early 1900s or late 1800s. They are slowly but surely tearing them down and I really need to get out there to capture them before they are gone.
Lori
I love it - it says so much about people, especially those that believe in beautifying their space in the world. Excellent share.
Hugs,
Holly
I love the colors and textures of this shot. With this shot, you've managed to pique my curiosity, and now I wonder what is happening in each of the windows!
interesting photo!
happy ww
i love buildings like this!!! My brother lives in Baltimore in row house just like these...
Really neat shot! I try to look for things others would just pass by, too.
At one of the monuments in Washington DC, I got down on the ground and shot up. People looked at me like I was nuts, but as I was leaving, I noticed others doing the exact same thing. :)
I love old buildings like that.. I often wonder what stories those walls hold as well... I took a ton of pictures of buildings when I was in New York and London, England last fall...
Hi Carmi,
I would have loved to have lived in one of these at a time when people really cared about each other and looked after each other. The person on the other side was your neighbor, "part of your family," - not just another body on the other side of the wall.
I think you know Anna Carson - did you know she's doing a Project Green this week? I caught the unexpected green up in the corner of your photo.
Thanks so much for coming by my WW and leaving such a nice comment.
Happy WW to you too!
Windows make you wonder what is happening inside. Imagination runs wild and stories abound.
Nice pic.
Homesick! You are reminding me of rows and rows of brownstones in Brooklyn.
My WW today is the full moon at Disney World.

Cool shot!
Thanks for your kind words over at my place.
I think the yellow building in the middle is feeling a bit melancholy about her bushy eyebrows. :)
Happy WW
these buildings remind me of New York, Chicago or Boston back in the 40's and 50's
great shot! im sure there is some story for this one..

Fantastic!! This pic speaks to me of individuality and unity.
:)
Nice city shot! Do buildings like that share an interior wall? Or do they each have their own?
Wow, what a great shot! There are some areas in Pittsburgh that look a lot like that, actually. I think row houses are so charming.
Thanks for the comment on my blog, and I SO wish I had that flexibility!
I love the individuality of the buildings. Just like the people who inhabit them probably are!!!
Great shot! Happy WW!
OOO I recognise that area LOL
Great WW.
Aline
I think they tell the story of so many families who've lived there over the years.
Not sure about the story but it reminds me of my beloved San Francisco.
Very nice shot!
I love photos like this…..reminds me of a time when people were still part of a community…..People in today’s world want to be left to themselves…..what happened to folks just hanging out on the front porch or front stoop, in the early evenings, waving to their neighbor’s and saying “how are you today”…..neighborhood block parties, enjoying someone’s company, other than just your own.
Okay so maybe not everyone else got this from this photo.....
Thank you for stopping by the Circus!

What a wonderful shot to see when I clicked on your link! I was born not too far from you, in Brantford. Those old row houses are one of the things I loved there; thanks for the memories.
Love doors and Windows and the colors, thanks for visiting
Lovely shot! Old buildings have such character.
And sweet inspiration - across the sidewalk. Love that sentiment.
Thanks for finding my site so that I can find yours here now.
Love this. I'll be back.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Nice that your neighbors have good taste in paint colors.

Love this picture, the lines, colors. Does make you wonder what these buildings have seen, who has lived there. Intesting!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and saying hi! Great photo!
Interesting photo, Carmi. It certainly looks different from where I live, though.
Happy WW, and thanks for visiting.

Beautiful buildings. Great capture!
great shot!
I've always wanted to take a photo like this but mine always end up "unacceptable" :D
Love the spirit of these homes and their owners. Looks like a great neighborhood to live in..

Different colors make the street more interesting.
I don't know what their thinking individually, but collectively they are probably thinking the rent's too high ;)
If walls could talk, I am sure they would have one heck of a story to tell!
Carmi,
Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment! Love this shot~ it reminds me of walking in Charleston, SC.
I love WW! I have never taken so pictures- it has been FUN!
And, Abigail will love that picture at the dr.'s office, I am sure. Don't know if my 12 yr. old boy will appreciate his potting training pictures as much.... ;)
Nice to "meet" you!
great picture! As a former New York City girl, I have always loved the look of brownstones! I'm sure each window has a different story to tell.
BTW - Thanks for stopping by my place! I love to share my life others!
Blessings!
Story of the 3 buildings.
Ray's Revenge.
Jim and Eli decided to pep up the neighborhood with some spicey Venetian colors, evoking some life and joie de vive. But because Jim never returned Ray's Paint Sprayer, Ray never spoke to him again, and purposefully painted over his Tuscan Red home to a flat ugly grey, bringing the property value down. Ray's revenge.

I am soooo behind on replying to comments! Beautiful picture! I believe it is wordless-lol. I can't find the words to describe it. If I had to choose which building to live in it would be the middle one-yellow is my favorite color! Thanks so much for visiting mine
Have a great day!
