It's resonant here. Hushed. Disconnected from anything that might get in the way of silent reflection. The rest of the world can wait a while.
These trees first sprouted long before the city that now hems them in was even a glimmer in a developer's eye. And I imagine most of them will outlive us all. Assuming we don't allow those developers' glimmers to go any further.
Who, after all, would ever want to live life without forests nearby? Who wouldn't want a spot to temporarily turn everything off and soak in the shady green?
Because everyone deserves to have a refuge like this. Even if we don't get out here as often as we'd like.
That last thing is, of course, entirely within our control.
