But still, she knows. Instinctively. She knows her human mommy is hurting, and she hovers over her particularly closely.
It isn’t always convenient or comfortable to have a wiggly puppy inches away from a significant bone injury. But it’s heartening all the same to see how fiercely she loves Debbie, and how she’ll do anything to protect and comfort her.
