A face in the clouds

I'm an inveterate cloudwatcher. Because my ride home is essentially westbound, I get the most dramatic views of the clouds. I am, of course, trying to avoid being pancaked by passing cars, so I can't stare at them too much. But because of where we live - lotsa thunderstorms rolling in off of Lake Huron - the spectacle of backlit clouds is often difficult to ignore.

Even when thunderstorms aren't threatening, the occasional image floats by and prompts me to wonder whether or not I've actually just seen something in those sorta-connected droplets of water. Thankfully, this time out, I had my camera with me.

Your turn: Do you see something in this image? If so, what?

Just moments ago I finished watching the Jodie Foster flick Flightplan so that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the clouds, Carmi. And that's not a pleasant memory 'cause the movie sucked pretty bad. (of course many will probably disagree with that analysis!)

Great picture though, Carmi. You sure do have a lot of them. Oh, and I was on the other side of the next lake over when I went to school. I was in Rochester NY so we got the lake effect snow off of Lake Ontario. I don't remember a lot of great clouds, but I do remember big snowbanks!

I'm always seeing faces and objects in clouds...of course in England we've always got plenty of them to watch!

Your picture is great and to me it looks like a man's head looking up.

I see a man's face with either 2 noses or a nose and a mustache, and big eyebrows!

Michele keeps sending me back here, carmi!

When I flew as a young kid, I used to try to see as far as possible to see if I could see god in the clouds. Then I kind of became un-religified... I think that one looks like a puppy or Börje Salming.

I love clouds. But most times I don't have a camera with me. Now thanks to my trusty N70, I can't use that excuse any more. Great shot!

I see a face.

I love love love love to sit and watch the clouds. I have also been taking many pictures lately of them. I just wish the thunderstorms that have rolled in wouldn't have rolled right past us either. sigh.

Oh and I thought about you yesterday. My husband and I were in the car and we were coming to a stop at a red light. When we see this person in the left hand lane stopping and looking like he wanted to pull in front of us. When suddenly I see him reach across his seat and a camera comes out of his window and it looks like he's taking pictures of us. Only I see there is a Tim Hortons behind me, and then Adam sees a pretty neat orange car in the parking lot. Hehe... Not often do you see people taking pictures while they're driving. :)

The cloud formations have been awesome up at Floyd Fest. The first in 5 years without rain! I do sort of see an old man in yours.

Hi ... popping over from Michelle's "meet'n'greet."

Great picture! I see an older man with bushy eyebrows looking skyward. He's probably watching clouds and imagining what he sees.

I love clouds whjen they are contrasted against a dramatic blue sky like that. Grey skies, not so much.

I see a face coming out of the clouds, in profile. His mouth is open as if yelling and bushy eyebrows are evident. He is probably yelling "Hi Carmi, Michele sent Grins!"

great photo. Looks like a man yearning to burst out of the clouds!

one of my happiest childhood memories is lying on the grass looking up into the sky and watching the clouds spin by. thanks for bringing that back to me!

Absolutely gorgeous picture. I love taking pictures of the clouds too. Just watching the shapes they take. Looking at the sunlight beaming through them. The colors they take when the sun sets. They are just out of this world.
