On user-friendliness

"The real world is not user-friendly."
Kelvin Throop III
I'm beginning to think Mr. Throop may have been onto something. There are days when I just wish the merry-go-round would slow down just long enough for us to catch our breath. Not too much to ask, I hope.

Your turn: How do you suggest we make the world a little more user-friendly?

Everyone should slow down definitely.. Take time to give more eye contact instead of spewing off info., ideas, views... Breathe slowly and most of all LISTEN....

Well, that's a big topic. How do you make life more user friendly?

Be more friendly, I think. Be the change you want to see in the world. Don't cut that guy off, let him in even if he's being a jerk. Hold the door to the coffee shop open even if it means you're at the end of a longer line.

Play with your kids even if you're tired.

Go for a walk with your wife even though there's something good on TV.

Donate a little food to the food bank.

Pick up some garbage on the street.

Love a little more, even if it's a risk.

It would be nice if things were as they appeared to be. The world would be more user friendly if you didn't have to read the fine print to find out what you were actually getting. Back in the day when a handshake sealed a deal and people followed through on their promises, I believe life was a little more friendly.
