It’s a bittersweet moment. As the house glows its brightest, the candles will soon burn themselves out for the final time this year.
The hope is that we’ll get to do it all again next year. And between now and then we’ll have to figure out other ways to find the light.
Because tonight it comes from candles. Where it comes from tomorrow and every day thereafter is entirely up to us.

* I know there are actually 9 candles. The shamash, or helper candle, always has to run the show. It's a Chanukah thing. We've got extra latkes if you want any.
