One last show before nightfall

Lessons from a late Sunday afternoon wander through the neighborhood:
  1. When the sky puts on a show just before tucking itself in for the night, get outside to take it all in.
  2. Even if it's at the end of your street.
  3. If you're Canadian, bring your gloves. It's cold out there.
  4. Try to avoid looking like a stalker as your neighbors stare out their windows in suspicion.
  5. Have patience. Long after the sun sets, it can still put on a show.
  6. Don't just look to the western horizon. There's wonder all around, too.
  7. Listen. Nature's singing, but rarely do we take the time to hear it.
  8. At some point, cradle the camera and appreciate it for the magical tool that it is.
  9. Be thankful that you get to do this at all.
  10. Recognize that photography is a metaphor for life. At least it is for me.
