Wordless Wednesday - Colorful

They melt in your mouth, not in your hand
Toronto, ON, September 2007 [Click to embiggen]

Your turn: Does a jolt of color help offset the seasonal descent into grayness?

One more thing: I'm apparently becoming addicted to taking pictures of brightly colored candy - Smarties, Glosettes, Reese's Pieces, Peanut M&Ms, you name it. If it's edible, I'll shoot it. If you're hungry, you may want to pause before following these links. Just sayin'.

oh yes, "grayness" sometimes the season brings on emotional grayness but I live in southern CA. It was in the high 80's and sunny. My girls would agree that the color of M & M's is a cure all!
Happy WW

Colorful indeed -- although I still haven't gotten used to seeing the blue ones. Happy WW.

Thanks for the color relief, Carmi. It is certainly a brown world in my neck of the woods.

Wonderful, comforting shot! My first visit to your site - such stunning photographic talent! Is it natural eye or did you have any lessons? My 8 year old daughter lives with her camera by her side!

Seeing that in Oklahoma the temps yesterday were in the high 70's and today it will be in the low 70's....I wouldn't need the jolt of color yet. I don't think we'll ever see Fall.

When I need a little shot of chocolate and a bit of color to go along with it, nothing works better than an M&M.

Fun picture! Thanks for visiting my site and for you comment.

Did you post this one to try to entice me out of lurkdom? 'Cause it sure worked...you say M&Ms, and I'm there :) Gorgeous! :)

I am not sure if my previous response went through... so here it is again. Sorry.

Look again at the number of responses you get when you post a photo of CHOCOLATE!!!

This color brightens any day!

Hey, who ate all the green ones?

Happy WW :P

i dont know about the jolt. I never really understood seasonal depression until i was trapped in a house with a toddler who wants OUT regardless of the wind, rain, cold, and misery out there.

but actually, one of the things that brightens my day is visiting you, and my other blog friends! color or no.

MissMeliss said...

We have seasonal brownness, if that. When did they start making BLUE m&ms?

ooh... one of my favorite guilty pleasures! :) and i love the perspective of the photo! i definitely like to have a little color around in gray november... this month is also when i root out my candles and put them in the windows to add a little coziness, too.

All that did was make me hungry for chocolate! ...but hey Carmi, u should have used Smarties instead of M&M's ,as a canadian lol, They don't have them in the USA.

Mmmmm, I'll take any colour to fight off the greyness of a Canadian winter!! ESPECIALLY if there's chocolate hiding underneath!!

Thanks for the great compliments on my lucky photography! ;)

Love the colors. Here in Wyoming everything is turing Brown, soon to be followed by White. A splash of color is always welcome

Amy said...

Yumm. Now I'm running for the chocolate. Currently the sun is keeping the gray away. No such luck for tomorrow I'm sure!

Yum! Who doesn't like 'Nooms' as my nephew would call them. LOL

Mmmmm.....You read my mind. I need some chocolate! Beautiful shot!

How funny, I just posted about obsessive eating habits -- specifically about salads having taken the place of the entire bags of M&M's I used to eat (but only in matching color pairs).

YUM.

I like your picture and I love chocolate. Didn't follow the links because there is no chocolate candy in my house right now and that would cause a crisis.
Remember when there was no blue M&M's?

Gosh....thats indeed colourful. Me too I love colourful stuff.

Yummy!

Happy WW!

I love the colors and the close-up/macro. I did something similar with a box of crayons, if you are looking for more ideas with color.

Thanks for your very nice comments and for coming by!

Yum-yum! I love those bright colors. When they make the pink and white ones for Valentine's Day, I don't think they taste nearly as good.

look at the number of comments on here Carmi. wow!

Colour surges on a November day? I was able to capture some amazing colour today too..... mine can't be eaten, but consumed by the eyes. come see..........

ps. I really want you to see the still life photo I took on the weekend of apples. I was THRILLED by the result. It reminded me of the light captured in a Mary Pratt painting. Let me know what you think.........hey that's putting you on the spot isn't it?? :)
