Thematic Photographic 96 - Goodbye Winter
Arctic ice shelf?
London, ON, February 2010
[Click photo to embiggen]
I was hoping to do a spring-themed theme this time out, but I realized it was so early in the season that my archives didn't have a whole lot of relevant examples to share.* So I went with the next-best thing, winter. I'm hoping you've got pictures that allow us to reflect on the season that just was, and to bid it a fond farewell. For 9 months, anyway.
Your turn: Please share a winter-themed photo on your blog, photo sharing site or web site, then paste a link in a comment here. Simple, no? To add to the fun, visit other participants' contributions. I promise you'll be inspired. For more background on how Thematic Photographic, our weekly photo-sharing activity, works, click here. For all TP-themed entries, go here.
One more thing: I'll deliberately hold off on sharing the context/story of this photo. Feel free to guess, if you wish.
*This is a big hint for a future TP theme. Spring will definitely be here on the blog in the near future.

Carmi, it is hard to even remember winter when it is 93 degrees outside.... but... here it is, along with a winter tree I didn't get in on time.
Surely, A Wise Old Owl Must Live Here
Winter is a long way in the past here - or in the near future, depending on how you look at it - but either way, I'll see what I can do
Good Bye Winter Indeed.
It's been a lovely time but I for one am glad of the warmth now!
This weeks offeringhere
So long winter let the birds return and the flowers bloom.
So happy that winter is over...so I will post a goodbye winter photo with a smile on my face. Your photos depicts the dreary look of winter for sure.
Winter is pretty much gone from Southern California.
I've got a farewell to winter that's a hello to spring.

I got mine up pretty quickly this time. It's also an icy edge.

Thanks for your positive comment on my trees, Carmi.
I have quite a few winter pictures posted, but here is my farewell to winter:

This theme is not fair. We only had 3 days of snow and the spring flowers started in Feb. The first of the spring flowers are gone and everywhere I look there are flowers, Dogwoods, Wisteria, Azalias, Iris, and lots that I have no idea what they are named. I found my post from Feb with the snow in it so here it is

Brrrrrr! You better dress warm before jogging on over here.
A great theme Carmi, especially since the air is still pretty cool... it feels cool as Winter.
This was a really hard theme for me here in So Cal. But I think I found the answer...
