Maybe they think you’re a little weird. Or off-normal. Whatever normal is.
Whatever they’re thinking, it shouldn’t stop you from taking the shot. Or making the moment. Or otherwise seizing the opportunity to enjoy yourself harmlessly in the midst of an existence that doesn’t always want to let us do just that.
The choice is entirely ours. We can go plod through the day - or the grocery store - doing exactly the same programmed things a reasonably civil society expects of us. Or we can fiddle at the edges a bit and tease out just a little more joy.
In other words: live deliberately > merely exist.
Those people staring at you while you take a timeout from the very important mechanics of hunting and foraging to capture shopping carts as they’ve never been captured before? Well, you probably just made them smile. Or think a little. Or remember their own moment.
Either way, you probably changed their world in some small way. Or maybe it’s not so small.
In the meantime, I’ll see you in the frozen foods section. You’ll know who I am. Bring your camera.
