Egg, meet sidewalk

The weather dude is calling for a high of 34 degrees Celsius (93.2 Fahrenheit) and a humidex somewhere well into the 40s (104). The humidex and smog alerts are already up, and as I look out my window before leaving for the office, I can literally see the air.

Somewhat stupidly, I'll be riding my bike today.

Yeah, silly me.

Your turn: What little tricks do you have up your sleeve to keep cool?

Ice cream. Eat lots of ice cream. And we keep our air conditioner on 65. Aahhhhhhhhh.

Oh, and have I mentioned we're headed to the beach? Nothing better than dipping in the ocean in the heat! Woot!

I second stationary queen - we're going to the beach tonight. I've got a swimsuit this time, though.

I learned this on a hiking trip, if you get too hot, wear short sleeves, and go to the nearest sink and run cold water over your wrists, and it will bring your body temperature down.

The little refrig. ice packs always come in handy too and a water tank (they come in little packs) for your backpack are useful as well.

A trip to the pool upstairs is nice as well.

See ya

Yeah, it wasn't good in the city today . Fortunatly it was my last day so I wont have to head into the core. Its funny to see a brown stripe hanging over the 401 as you approach along a country road. Its faint, but its there. Depressing to be honest. Here via Micheles today..

cheers

Hello via Michele's!

Nothing creative about this one... I stay in the air conditioning! Humidity does awful things to curly hair! LOL

Riding the bike is good as long as you ride.

Get stuck at a traffic light over heat radiating tarmac between a couple of massive SUV's and you will slowly melt and puddle.

My secret? Never, never, stop moving..

Beach isn't an option right now. We're in rainy season now (read hurricane). As soon as it clears, I'm off on my bike too. Love the heat. And Michele says hi.

Yep, you are silly!

I live in Florida...the only way to stay cool is to stay inside, in the AC...therefore, I'm hot and sweaty alot!

Visiting via Michele tonight...glad I wandered thru!

Drinks lots of sweet tea, and if that doesn't do it - drink beer. Then I won't care about the heat!

Michele sent me this time!

A shower always cools me down. Was it really that hot yesterday?

I try to avoid going outside, period :)

I just imagine a cool, frothy drink on some balmy beach somewhere at sunset...when it's not too hot. It doesn't really cool me off that much, but the thought is still a nice one!
