A brief-yet-ongoing journal of all things Carmi. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll reach for your mouse to click back to Google. But you'll be intrigued. And you'll feel compelled to return following your next bowl of oatmeal. With brown sugar. And milk.

Lovely shade of green!
Yes, I do...I think it's natural to focus on something and then change focus...some would say that would be an attention span problem - but I'll stick with "creative cycles"!
By the way...Michele sent me!
I'm pretty sure I do go through cycles like that, I'm just not quite sure when or what they are :)
I have to say though, I REALLY love this picture. The way the light is hitting that green, and the cozyness of all the leaves together. I love it.
I really hate the fact that I often feel as though my creative instincts are dead. I have quite an imagination, but I tend to recycle old ideas all the time and not generate anything new.
Are you talking about me? Because it sounds just like me.
I tend to focus on one thing at a time. (Think it has something to do with the hyperfocus thingy I have.)
Photography cycles, one winter I made cards, one winter was jewelry, couple years of scrapbooking, I've spend a year or two doing my web design, couple years of writing, etc, etc. Now I'm into knitting.
Anyone want some jewelry supplies? How about card supplies? Scrapbooking?
Absolutely. It really depends on my mood. I do alot of shots of the girls, of course, but sometimes, I go into the abstract. It just depends on my mood. The same attitude holds true for the music I listen to, the books I read, or the current project I work on. I've yet to discover a hobby or a theme that I will stick with for any given period of time.
Yes, and my creative cycle seem to flow with my destructive cycle which surprisingly coincides with my menstrual cycle.
:)
I don't usually go with any one theme as I switch mediums since I just can't seem to stick to one. Right now I'm heading back in to a sewing/fabric arts medium.
I haven't been in a while Carmi, but I always enjoy my visits here. You never cease to give me a fresh perspective.
As for creative cycles, all the time!
I'm not creative, so creative cycles are pretty much out for me ;). However, I love the flowers. What kind are they?
Yes, I do go through cycles of creativity, Carmi (love the alliteration!) I love your green hydrangeas; my cycles include using certain types of flowers for a while and then discarding their use for months at a time. I eventually go back to them, though.
Yes, right now it's butterflies and scrabble. I think there is a loose realtionship from one post to the next...they flow like lines in a poem...or a word associatation game.
Great shot!!!! (sorry for the delay...dog had to go out!)
I definitely go through creative cycles...I'm in a downdraft at the moment!
Here via michele today, Carmi.
absolutely! Sometimes I have so many ideas in my head, I feel like I can't get them out fast enough, and all I want to do is read and learn and connect the dots between everything in the world. And sometimes, I feel like there's nothing going on in my head at all. And sometimes, very infrequently, it all balances out and I almost feel normal.
My favorite thing to photograph is flowers. This is beautiful!
wow.
I love that green!! It makes me feel happy.
Yes, I go through cycles with everything-not just creatively, but with food or ice cream flavors and music etc.
