Wordless Wednesday - Good morning, sunshine

Brilliant petals
Laval, QC, August 2008 [Click to embiggen]
About this pic: This is the last photo in support of this week's Thematic Photographic theme, colorful. I'll be posting a new TP theme later Wednesday evening (mark your calendars now!) For now, feel free to click back if you'd like to share a colorful photo.
Nature has am amazing way of painting a scene - no paintbrush required. I was on an early morning walk when I came across these petals soaking in the brilliant rising sun.

I didn't have a tripod and I had to carefully make my way into a public flowerbed to get close - much to the amusement of passers-by - but in the end it paid off in a picture that will always take me back to a small slice of time when life was peaceful and perfectly laid out in front of me.

Your turn: How is it that color has such power to change our mood?

Is that a cute little inchworm in the middle? This photo is stunning, Carmi. I love the velvety richness of the petals. You're taking this week's theme out out with a bang.

Oh, and happy Wordless Wednesday!

I second that one! Colorful, and no words required. Doesn't matter that it can't do 190mph...
Brilliant shot. Just brilliant.

Carmi,

What a beautiful photo. Love the color - it just filled my computer screen and I felt this feeling that I was overcome with the beauty of it.

I love color - maybe that's why I quilt and knit...

Good to see you again...

Beautiful flower. I love the rich depth of graduated color. Color has such incredible power that goes so unnoticed much of the time. It's very compelling when you stop to really take it in, though.

Tripod, though? It never occurred to me to use one with flowers.

Unexplainable beauty, that's what that is. Colors, music and scents lift my mood...every time. :)

Thanks for sharing that beautiful flower shot with us. It's amazing!

Beautiful color and lighting, too! I realized how determined I was to get a good shot when I crouched in a public flowerbed and never even looked to see if anyone was looking. :-)

Gorgeous colours. The colours of summer are coming to a close.... but before we hit the bleak monotones of winter, we have the glorious hues of Autumn to look forward to!

I don't know how it happens, or why we respond the way we do to certain colors, but I know that color can make all the difference in the world, in most aspects of life.

The circular scene of this flower is like a sunburst when you can only see the yellow on the fringes of the orange. Beautiful. I love photographing flowers, and I,too, feel self-conscious about the public display of that photography sometimes brings.

Great photo! The sight of orange and yellow on a cold winter's day brings joy to my heart. I love the colors of cracklin' fires. It is the color of warmth.
