It's not the gutter, looks like a street or parking lot to me.

At first glance it appears like something far out in the universe, but since you said we'd laugh, I'm guessing it's something else very simple and random, and it's how you shot the photo which makes it appear like something shot from perhaps a plane, or satellite....near a forest and water way...! but this is where the funny part comes in...the real answer will be so simple that we'll be forced to look deeper and say "Ah, we should have seen that!

I love your blog!!
I found it because you left that nice comment on mine. Thank you for that.
I'm amazed by the photographs and can't wait to find out what that last one is!!
I'll most definitely be back!

A delightful teaser. First I want to believe that I see frozen waves on a cold winter lake. Then I believe that it is an incredibly sharp image of a frozen puddle. Not knowing which it is lends to the appeal of the contemplation.

Kalei's Best Friend got it. This was taken in the gutter of the road right in front of my driveway. There's a slight depression in the road that always fills up with water. In winter, it's icy pretty much the entire season, so when freeze-thaw cycles set in, the views can become pretty surreal.

Because you're such a good guesser, you get to pick next week's Thematic Photographic theme. I'll ping you on your blog to let you know. Thanks everyone, and congrats, KBF!
