Here's to vegetables

Guess where I've been again. (Pause while my wife sighs.)

I'm learning to shoot quickly before tucking the camera back into my pocket. It's easy during the winter when I wear a big trench coat (no Flasher Freddie jokes, please.) I'm still working on a strategy for the spring/summer months. Suggestions are welcome.

Tourist camera strap. Definitely.

Make nice with the store manager, play up the reporter angle? Be careful they don't start thinking you're shoplifting (with all the furtive hiding of the camera!). :-)

beautiful colors in that picture. I laughed at the thought of you trying to sneak a picture in the trench coat.. too funny.

I don't usually hide my camera, but I am very discreet when shooting strangers.

You did wonderfully, though. Those colors are amazing. :)

Wow - that's just gorgeous, even on my old computer at home. Can't wait to view on on my G5 tomorrow in the office...

nice picture! You know I can eat a bell pepper just like an apple. especially the yellow ones! I just love 'em!

How about color themes? You know, a still life or something similar all in the same hue's of color.
just a thought!

Why hide it?..Unless your focused on ppl...I don't think anyone should or would mind you expressing your artistic nature with photography.
My sister's camera has become another apendage...although its her chosen career, its also her love. She was also our former PM Paul Martin's official photographer the last 2 yrs in parliment...she was able to travel the world taking photos....since the change in power, she has gone back to Freelancing....
That was alot of trivia but I thought u could apreciate it lol.

I don't hide my camera unless I'm inside a temple where picture-taking may not be encouraged. I always ask first.

GREAT Picture, Carmi! I love the detail and the juicy healthy look of these! Yum!

How about you just wear the camea around your neck and then everyone sees it and it's not a big surprise when you start shooting Avacado's! (Summertime...do you get Avacado's there?)

carmi, you and i must be kindred spirits... i have a photo that i took at a farmers market that is REALLY close to this one. for me a lot of composition is about the texture of the subject. :)

I always smile when I see that Carmi has been in the produce section again. Honestly, I love them and it makes me want to shoot produce but I always forget to bring my camera into the store. It's just another version of a still life.

As you know my camera is an extension of my arm....

Love your work.

HA! I'm sorry, I can't think of anything useful. I'm still chuckling over the rain coat image you've conjured. And by the way, such an image didn't even enter my head until you warned me away from it. ;)

Peppers are the ultimate vegetable--fruit, actually~,:^0. The color and shape and sheen are beautiful. Nice shot.

Nice shot of the peppers. I don't usually hide my camera. And if anyone asks, I just explain what I am doing, very professional sounding-like. Have a great day. Michele sent me.
