Beautiful! Your WWs are always among my favorites!

Hehe, you piqued my curiosity with your comment--nice play on words. Shiny, metallic, a game, our pictures ARE identical!

Okay, not really, but we do like to play, don't we? Love the bird's eye view of a childhood favorite. Oh, and interesting the property you chose for this shot...was it about the color?

My husband loves this game...I hate it. LOL!

You know, this photo actually is capable of having a rather deep meaning.

Despite the fact that it totally rocks, it could really be a tribute to putting one's goals in perspective.

happy wednesday

I'm a Scrabble fan, myself.

Great photo, Carmi. (And I wish you a Hotel!!)

I never liked Monopoly, but that is a very cool shot.

Is that actually a gold monopoly car? Killer shot! I always enjoy your photography!

As for the games people play . . . I think the cold I'm acquiring has made my head a little less than creative. Sigh.

Cool picture--but is there a reason you picked Tennessee over any of the other properties?

Such a unique view, really creative.

Wow, that is a nice car there! How did you get a monopoly car like that? My monopoly set only has plastic ones? :D

PS: About the monkeys, they don't usually come up to the apartments. They stay within the park. Only when they get too hungry...None can enter into the homes because all homes are on the 1st floor. Mine is on the 8th. :)

Very nice! I need to think more creatively. I never would have thought to photograph a monopoly game.

Love this shot, and what a loaded question...

Let's see - nice answer: We love to play Cranium, Catchphrase, Pictionary, Scattergories, and Apples to Apples.

Naught answer? Quid pro quo.

Have a good one :)

Love it. Never enjoyed the game much but I always loved playing with the pieces when I was little and my parents indulged me. This photo took me back. Thanks Carmi!

Nice shot. :)

Cool picture. It is amazing how small things change perspective when you get up close with the camera.

I don't have the car in my monopoly game I have the dot.com edition so all my pieces are computer related.

Nice play of words!
I haven't tried monopoly, but we play scrabble, war of the generals, pictionary, and many more :D

Carmi, I'm sure you know that Games People Play is a famous 1964 book by psychiatrist Eric Berne. Since its publication it has sold more than five million copies. The book describes both functional and dysfunctional social interactions.(Wikipedia) That's the first thing I thought of when I saw your great photo and caption. :)

Aw, the memories that brings.

Love the picture - monopoly was one of my favorite games to play as a child. I have a similar pic this week for my WW - it is a game based on monopoly called 'Life On The Farm'. We got it for the girls for Christmas and they love it! Some of my best memories from childhood are game playing times, so we're trying to have some of those at our house too now that the girls are getting old enough to play!

Ha! What a great photo! For some weird reason I usually pick the iron even though I'm not big on ironing...

Hi Carmi! Nice thought here! I like to play Monopoly also, but none of my five grandkids will play with me. I always win.
Happy WW, I'm glad you like Jenna and Caveman.

I'll go check on your Geek blog now, maybe I can learn something. :-)

I try to have game day at least once every nine weeks in my classroom. Monopoly is one of the games we play. I always have to have a procedure in place so we don't have any fights over who gets to be the car. The tophat is always popular as well.

This Christmas seemed to have a theme with my family for game giving. My mum bought Cranium (which if you've never played you NEED to give it a go - I've never laughed so hard in my life!!!!). My mate Louise bought us Jenga and Pictionary, so when we weren't out snowshoeing or sledding we were inside enjoying these new presents. thanks for sharing the photo

May G-d make His face to shine upon you, friend.

I think my comment from earlier didn't post (think I closed my tab too early). So I'll say something new. :)

People play Monopoly in real life too. But when the game's over what are you left with?

Megan said...

Awesome picture! I love to play Monopoly....well unless I'm losing!

Happy WW!

Joan said...

Ah, Monopoly ... so many treasured memories. We played with my family over Thanksgiving, but not with the beautfiul new board & gold pieces shown in the picture. I think using the same old board and handwritten replacements for all the money lost over the years adds a special nostalgia to the game, though. :)

What a brilliant shot!!
I haven't played that game in years!

Nancy Bea Miller said...

Excellent shot! Is that a gold car? Wow. In our humbler edition (base metal pieces probably slowly poisoning us with lead particulates) I always went for the wee flatiron.

Great pic of the Monopoly car. Is there a chance you might like old cars? I love the way you zoomed in on just the car and the Tennessee property.

I also wanted to say I dropped by your blog recently and read about your son and his broken leg. I hope he continues to heal well.

Happy WW. Have a nice night, what's left.

Shan said...

I play Scrabble. Often.

I like Monopoly though. I usually play as the ship. Usually the orange properties aren't a high priority for me.

Anonymous said...

Hey Carmi, I came back to catch up on some of your posts I had wanted to read, but I thought I'd add a few thoughts here:

1) He picked Tennessee because some SMOKIN' bloggers liver there ;).

2) I LOVE to play board (and card) games, don't do it nearly enough ("word" ones are my favorite...). But when I read your "Your turn", in spite of the fact your photographed Monopoly, when I thought of "games people play" it had NOTHING to do with board or card games of any sort...much more so the "games" we play in life.

Interesting that the majority of your comments took the question quite literally....

Anonymous said...

Very amusing! I love it.

rashbre said...

Great fun to see the diff streetnames in your version of the game too.

We have Old Kent Road through to Mayfair, via Coventry Street and Trafalgar Square.
