Quick note: The leadership change at Research In Motion continues to put its stamp on my existence. Click here to see the latest. Or read on for a little photographic diversion. Because when the big news stops, a little camera time is good for the soul.Photography is an incredible thing. It can freeze virtually anything in its tracks, and in the process allow us to imagine movement when, in fact, there is none. It plays with the mind, brings it places far beyond the screen mere inches from our nose, forces it to ponder what it must have felt liketo be Right There.
It's always a wonder to me that I can stop time with a mere click. I can explain the physics of it, but that doesn't make it any less miraculous.
Your turn: For the next week, Thematic will be sharing movement-themed pictures. Either take one that suggests the theme and then post it, or find one you've already shared online. Leave a comment here letting everyone know where to find it. Visit other participants to share the joy (and accept my apologies for being so slack lately on that last part. Time is not my friend these days. I'll work on that.) And above all, enjoy the process. Because this is all about loving what we do when we grab our cameras and head out who knows where.
Oops, almost forgot: New to Thematic? Click here and all will be explained. Well, almost all.
Wow! You definitely rocked the photo! Superb shot and good timing!
I never would have thought a gull could look pretty, but yours does in the glow of the sun.
Mine's not very original, but the colors are nice:
Well, there goes what would have been my first idea - there are a lot of seagulls that hang out at the park near my house. But I'll have to think of something else.
That bird shot is just amazing. Amazing.
Here is my take for this theme.
Amazing capture !!! Mine is here http://mypinkcloud-ranu.blogspot.com/2012/01/birds-3.html
Delightful photo and I agree that capturing that moment in time is why so many love photography
Here is my entry
Just love your gull! What sort is it? Here are mine - definitely not birds!
Here's mine, with my writers' game attached to it again. C'mon over and play:
Moving shots in more ways than one.
Carmi I know you take a lot of photos like this, but could you ever again get one this cool?! Nice capture! I just posted mine too.
Terrific flight shot, Carmi. The wings are perfectly highlighted against the sky- the bird just seems to hover there for a moment.
Resurfacing today after a rough couple of months, I’ve got movement (squared).
Here is an attempt at capturing the movement of clouds.
I'm new to this, and really liked this theme, simply because it brought to mind one of my favorite pictures... Not sure how to link it up though, so my blog name is Two Chicks and Their Peeps.
I did post an older post from my blog earlier this week but in going through my photos I did a post just for this weeks theme today
I got another set of Movement pictures, somewhat inadvertently. Here they are.
