If you're new to Written Inc., we do a weekly photographic shareathon kinda thing called Thematic Photographic where I post a theme, and everyone shares perspectives based on that theme. Head here for the rules. We promise you it won't hurt.
For this week's theme, branched, I've decided to take some inspiration from the trees that have always inspired me. I spend a ridiculous amount of time outdoors - dog and bicycle...do the math - so I often find myself staring at trees and bushes, trying to figure out if they're worth a few megabytes on my camera's memory card (short answer: Often.) I also live in the Forest City, so it's only fair that I give branches their due.
As you explore the theme, keep in mind that a branch need not be limited to something that originated as a seed in the ground. As always, how you interpret a theme can be as out-there as you wish. The goal here is to stretch a little. I know you'll have as much fun with this theme as I have.

Have you had people try to wager before? That would take the fun out of it. I don't feel this is a "mine is better then yours" thing, but a "cool perspective, this is mine" thing.
I'll branch out on some photos later.
I love these challenges, especially the instruction to go "out-there" with it.

i love those branches ,but then again i love trees.

Carmi - it isn't easy to capture branches in a way to make them special - you pulled it off - that is a lovely image.
I am branching out by traveling and trying to continue my posting as I go. Not as easy as I thought and my image is really not indicative of the limits I am pushing.

Carmi - I'm glad I stumbled upon your blog!
....and I second what Max said. I love this weekly game, but more importantly how now all week long I'll be seeing things branching out everywhere! Of course not just in the power and magic of trees but in odd little bits and pieces we stumble upon everyday and sometimes been known to miss. Taking my camera with me tomorrow to capture some random strange but powerful thing, or things! Thanks Carmi!

I've resisted trees for the moment, but I know I won't be able to let the whole week go by without some...

In sort of a mashup of your posts Friday and Saturday, this one shows it's tough to see where root, trunk and branch start or end.

The buzz about my city is so fitting with our "Branched theme" that I just posted The Oldest Tree (350 years) eulogy a great "Ancient Oak" that will soon be toppled!

I have another different type of branch but this one has been sitting in my file for a couple of years, just waiting to be used. It called to me like the far away pulsing drums in the movie Jumanji.... "use me, use me"... so i did.
