Quick note: This week's Caption This photo continues the latest Thematic Photographic theme, sky. Other sky-related entries are here and here. I figured with soaring fuel prices prompting airlines to slash jobs, routes and service, this was a timely photo to share. Click here to share your Thematic Photographic link.Your turn: As I do every Sunday, I'm turning to you to give this photo a name. About last week's chocolate cow photo: I laughed out loud all week as your suggestions poured in. In the end, only one victor could be declared - well, aside from our son, who got to eat the thing - and that would be Izedabye's Well, at least they captured my best side. Oh, wait, I only have one side. He's new to the blogging world, so I hope you'll click on over to his site, All things me, and welcome him to the insanity.
Honorable menschens go to these following fine folks:
- Robin: "Udderly delicious" and "Cow, lick." (Submitted from the beach, no less!)
- Linda: "Do chocolate cows give chocolate milk?"
- John: "I think I've milked this one for all it's worth."
- Marcia: "Holy cow."
- Me: "Cows...quietly taking over the world one bite at a time"
Pilot to Co-pilot: Did we put the gas cap back on?
My GPS isn't working, and I don't remember where the next turn is.
Roger: We have clearance, Clarence.
Clarence: Roger, Roger. What's our vector, Victor?
I could go on, but I'm pretty sure David Zucker would take legal action regarding copyrights and such.
".....into the wild, blue yonder!"
I'll play this week - it's been a while...
Caption: Off we go into the wild blue yonder!
(a little patriotic this week - after all it is the 4th of July week-end!)
At this very moment my nearly 17-year old niece and her dad (my brother) are flying back to Oregon after a glorious 3 days with us here in Missouri. I hadn't seen her for 4 years and it had been a very rough time for her. But now I see a beautiful young woman taking on the world with excitement and a sense of adventure that wasn't there before.
This is a long way to get to the point of the caption I see in this photo: "The sky's the limit." Not very creative but it touched me at a moment that she is so front of mind for me.
err .. can we get a refund on the skywriting... that doesn't look anything like 'Happy Birthday'!
Mr. Blue Sky
tell me honestly, do these vapor tails make me look fat?
Alrighty - I don't think anyone could top uisce's comment. That's just plain funny!
Up up up up up up up up... this is endless! When do we get to say, "and away?!" We are away!
Hi Carmi. Thanks for your congratulatory comment. It was much appreciated :)
Your pic has such a lovely deep feel to it. It seems to be taking so many off on an adventure or a holiday so in the best tradition of children everywhere my caption is:
"Are we nearly there yet?"
Parallel lines meet at infinity
Happy contrails to you!
I'm not sure if it's too late to add to this week's selection, but since you don't have your new caption posted yet, I thought I'd throw a few more into the mix:
Just plane fun
Breaking in line
Point, line and plane
(Imagine me, going all "geometry" on ya...trust me, this is laughable!)
